Left Cloncurry show grounds am and headed up to a property about 35ks on the Burke development road , towards Normanton . We were going to organise to come back on the Sunday to volunteer there for a week after we had been to the Burke and Wills roadhouse camp draft to help out with the Blazeaid bbq and clothing stall . However this did not eventuate as I was asked if I would like to help in the cattle yards to draft out cattle to go on boat to Vietnam, they needed to get 280, all of a certain weight out of a mob of about 800 , all were heifers and had to be pregnancy tested , as pregnant cattle would not be accepted in Vietnam . So 6 hours later after being in full sun all the time we ended up with a full truck load of 280 .
So after a good nights sleep at the homestead on 500,000 hectares we headed off to Burke and Wills roadhouse to help our fellow Blazeaiders . We arrived about lunch time and helped the crew on the stall . Blazeaid had been donated 14 pallets of new country clothing . We were selling top name brand shirts and jeans for $20 each , we were rushed off our feet .
We then had a visit by Scott Morrison to thank Blazeaid for there work . He had been in Cloncurry and travelled up to the camp draft [ 186ks] ,
We stayed at the camp draft until Sunday afternoon
When they learnt of my metalworking skills I was presented with a list of items for me to do .
I made 2 hay feeder stands , then on to making hat racks
This was of course in between gardening ,watering , mowing , weeding , pruning , planted new vegie seedlings and cleaned and tidied a very large shed . Beverley during all this time did lots of washing and folding and ironing for 3 cowgirls , a cowboy , a truck driver and the owner , wife and daughter , plus she helped with the meals at night . We were fed extremely well .
Very much over run with Corellas

It sure was a great experience , and we hope that they got as much from our company as we did from them . So we are back in Cloncurry at the showgrounds , which is free for Blazeaid , and hopefully will leave here on Wednesday for Batten Point , unless they find us more volunteering .

Love the photos. Glad you both are having fun. 😙 xx
