4th June to 14th June

Have been a bit slack with the blog updates so here is the last ten days
We left our volunteering job and replenished a few supplies in Cloncurry then headed north
Stayed overnight at the old township of Mary Kathleen , a great free camp as it was last
year but heaps more busy .
Not typical Qld weather
Stopped overnight at Camoweal lagoon where we met up with Susan and Mark

Another cold night , had electric blanket on . Very cold wind next day , also about 35ks from
the south which was good for us going north , not so good for Susan and Mark . So we said
our reluctant goodbyes and headed into N.T.

Stopped about 40ks east of Barkly Homestead , still very windy and dusty . Fuelled at Barkly
where the cost of diesel was $2.07 litre , what a rip off .
Turned right and headed up to Cape Crawford 369ks , which is the next available fuel , only $1.99 .
Then 165ks to our favourite fishing spot . Last 26ks is gravel , but quite good as it has been recently
graded . Not many people here at the moment . They had 2 cyclones through here this year , but only
lots of wind with about 120mm rain each one . Bit of a pity, as a good wet improves the fishing as
it flushes the creek and river systems . Any way here we are . Very hot .
Our camp site for the next 3 months hopefully
First fish , 2kg Queen fish caught at 4.30pm and eaten at 6.30pm . Hows that for fresh

We will try and keep up the blog weekly . Fuel is $1.77 here .!!!
